- TrustPay introduces new identity verification process for smooth onboarding

TrustPay introduces a new and improved identity verification process for new clients. The system ensures a smooth, quick and easy onboarding with a guarantee of the highest levels of security.

The user verification takes place completely online, with no more than two to three minutes to complete. It requires a smartphone with a camera, as during the process, the user is requested to take a short video of himself/herself and snap a picture of an identity document (ID/Passport).

The whole process of remote digital identity verification takes the user through easy-to-follow guided steps. This speeds up the onboarding by making it more efficient and ensures a seamless user experience. When all is said and done, it saves hours in manual review and unnecessary physical journey to authenticate a new user face-to-face.

The new remote identity verification process significantly reduces onboarding costs, while complying with all necessary cross-border regulations and requirements.

- TrustPay introduces new payment gateway to merchants

TrustPay brings a new version of payment gateway according to up-to-date trends and technologies. The payment gateway provides all merchants with more comfort regarding the implementation, payment overview, and transaction processing while offering their customers better, faster, and more secure payments online.

Customers can pay for goods and services online even more comfortably and securely. Instead of being redirected to a new payment page, the customer stays on the merchant’s website. The payment form shows as a pop-up that’s fast, convenient and less time-consuming with every payment.

A significant advantage of TrustPay’s new payment gateway for merchants is an opportunity to customize and modify the gateway’s design according to their taste, to their website or brand. The design of a payment form is variable and entirely customisable for every merchant. Except for style and colour customisation, merchants may upload their logo on the payment form instead of the TrustPay logo.

Besides the new redesign, payment notifications are now more detailed and precise, providing more information and specifics about each payment.

A new payment gateway with original API documentation will be available from September 2, 2019, for all existing and new clients of TrustPay without additional fees.

Today TrustPay brings its merchants Apple Pay, which is transforming mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay that’s fast and convenient.


TrustPay has successfully integrated and tested Apple Pay to support and accept all payment transactions. Thanks to this innovative and modern method, the checkout process will be a breeze from now on. Contactless payments will be easier to use, secure, fast and available to all merchants. 


Security and privacy are at the core of Apple Pay. Using a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device, nor on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on the device. Each transaction is authorized with a one-time unique dynamic security code.

- Visa Fraud and Chargeback Rules Update

F2S and Chargeback Ratio Lowered to 0.9% from October 2019


Effective 1st October 2019 Visa will apply new thresholds to improve the efficiency of the Visa Fraud Monitoring Program (VFMP) and the Visa Chargeback Monitoring Program (VCMP).

The main purpose of these Visa programs is to protect cardholders against fraud, protect the integrity of the Visa payment system, and introduce a standardised framework across the world.

Visa calculates the fraud and chargeback ratios as following:

VFMP: Fraudulent transactions (in USD) reported in the past month divided by the sales of the merchant for the past month (in USD) to get the fraud-to-sales ratio.

VCMP: Chargebacks reported in the past month divided by the sales count for the past month to get the chargeback ratio (CTR).

Both programs only take into consideration cross-border transactions, i.e. intra and inter-regional transactions.

The new thresholds from October 2019:

Visa has three thresholds: warning, standard, and excessive. However, Merchants qualified as high risk (MCC’s: 5962, 5966, 5967, 7995, 5912, 5122) will automatically fall under the Excessive Non-Compliance Assessments even if they only break the Standard threshold.




VCMP Standard

• 100 or more in dispute count and
• 0.9 % or higher ratio of dispute count-to-sales count

VCMP Excessive

• 1,000 or more in dispute count and
• 1.8 % or higher ratio of dispute count-to-sales count

VFMP Standard

• USD 75,000 or more in fraud amount and
• 0.9 % or higher ratio of fraud dollar-to-sales dollar amount

VFMP Excessive

• USD 250,000 or more in fraud amount and
• 1.8 % or higher ratio of fraud dollar-to-sales dollar amount


In case of exceeding a threshold, Visa will inform TrustPay. In turn, we will notify our Merchants and will work closely with them to cut down the fraud/chargeback levels. Please, note that non-compliant activity triggers a non-compliance fee. Merchants breaching the Excessive thresholds will be assigned a Non-Compliance Assessment fine for each month of a breach.

TrustPay is taking this opportunity to notify all of the Merchants to take appropriate action to ensure they maintain adequate risk controls to stay below the program thresholds.

Therefore, we would like to advise you to check and confirm that your terms and conditions are properly disclosed to consumers and that you operate in compliance with the TrustPay’s recommendations as well as Visa’s new rules on fraud and chargeback.
